What activation means
Activating your Tideflow workspace means completing the steps that connect your business identity, verify your phone number, and prepare the system to start handling calls. Until activation is complete, Tideflow cannot receive or answer calls on your behalf.
Step-by-step activation
1. Sign up
Create your Tideflow account from the sign-up page. You will need a valid email address. Tideflow uses secure authentication so there is no separate password to remember.
2. Set up your business profile
Enter your business name, industry, and the basics of how you want callers to be greeted. This information shapes the AI receptionist's behaviour and the voicemail greeting that callers hear.
3. Verify your phone number
Tideflow sends a verification code to your mobile number. This confirms you are the business owner and ensures features like self-notes (texting your Tideflow number to save reminders) work correctly. You must complete this step before going live.
4. Choose your number setup
Decide whether to keep your existing business number and forward calls to Tideflow, or use a Tideflow-provisioned number directly. See keep your number or use a Tideflow number for detailed guidance.
5. Activate your plan
Complete checkout to activate your Tideflow workspace. Once payment is confirmed, the dashboard unlocks and Tideflow is ready to answer calls.
After activation
Once your workspace is active, you should:
- Set up call forwarding if you are keeping your existing number
- Make a test call to confirm everything is working
- Optionally connect Slack for real-time call notifications
Common questions
Can I change my business name later?
Yes. You can update your business details from the settings page in the dashboard at any time.
What happens if I do not verify my phone?
Some features that depend on identifying you as the owner (like self-notes) will not work until verification is complete. Call handling itself requires an active, verified workspace.
Can multiple people access the workspace?
Yes. Once your workspace is active you can invite team members. See the team and admin guide for more detail (coming soon).
