Self-notes

Use your Tideflow number to capture reminders and owner notes in the product safely.

What self-notes are

Self-notes let you text your own Tideflow number to save reminders, quick thoughts, or anything you want to capture while you are away from the dashboard. Each message is stored in your workspace under My Notes in the Conversations view.

How to send a self-note

  1. Open the Messages app on your phone (the same phone number you verified during workspace setup).
  2. Send a text message to your Tideflow number — the number shown in your dashboard under Settings → Phone.
  3. The message appears in Conversations → My Notes within a few seconds.

Requirements

  • Verified phone number— You must have completed phone verification during onboarding. Tideflow matches the sender number to your verified owner phone to identify you.
  • Australian number format— Self-notes support Australian mobile formats including 04xx, +614xx, and bare digit variants.

What happens behind the scenes

  1. Your text arrives at Tideflow via Twilio.
  2. Tideflow verifies the Twilio signature and checks the sender number against your verified owner phone.
  3. If the sender matches, the message is saved as an owner self-note in your conversation thread.
  4. No automated reply is sent back to your phone.

What self-notes do not do

  • Self-notes do not trigger any outbound SMS, notification, or webhook event.
  • If Tideflow cannot verify you as the owner (for example, you text from a different phone number), the message is silently discarded. It will not appear in your workspace.
  • Self-notes are stored in the same conversation tables as other SMS threads. In the current release, accepted team members who can view conversations can also read My Notes. Do not use self-notes for passwords, payment details, or other secrets you expect to stay owner-only.

Tips

  • Save your Tideflow number as a contact on your phone so it is easy to find when you need to jot something down.
  • Use self-notes to capture callback reminders, job details, or anything you want to review later alongside your call records.
